Born in 1979.
He lives and works in Nijni-Taguil (Russia).
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kataisk, he discovered Morocco for the first time in 2011. Since then, the artist has been regularly exploring the Moroccan land and has made Jardin Rouge his second residence.
Denis Tevekov’s abstract work comes from the soul, according to rhythms, gestures, densities, superpositions that allow forms to intermingle, dissolve, disappear. He paints on canvas, cardboard, paper using the most varied instruments: worn brushes, brushes, rollers… Bucking the trend, his spurts of colours and his approach to matter reflect the expression of a pure sensation, a rejection of dogmas.
As a painter who is focused on the present time, his work is close to reality, moulded by the artist. He likes to say that it is his hand that leads him in a spontaneous way. For Denis Tevekov, to paint is to vibrate.
