Born in 1987.
He lives and works in Saint Petersburg (Russia).

Vitaly Tsarenkov aka SY was first noticed for his large murals, made of multiple facets of colors, in his native city of St Petersburg. Trained as an engineer and fascinated by technical drawings, he developed a very geometric treatment of the image, using the ambiguity of forms to create works influenced by optical art.

Today, the artist is gradually detaching himself from these very angular pieces, freeing himself from the three-dimensional character of these images to show more surrealist works. SY’s geometrical prism is still prevalent in his approach to color, in the service of form. On canvas or on wooden panels, the visual accumulation plays on indoctrination, whether social, political or cultural.
