Born in 1981.
He lives and works in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo).

After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts of Kinshasa and the School of Decorative Arts of Strasbourg, Vitshois Mwilambwe Bondo completed his training by studying at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. Founder of Kin ArtStudio, he also took over the Young Congo project in 2017.

He deals with the challenge of deconstructing images, particularly colonial representations. Combining painting and collages, the artist’s work includes multiple fractured identities, varied places, numerous points of conflict and anachronisms.

For IN-DISCIPLINE, the artist brings to life emblematic female figures of African history, in the tradition of Luba art. By experimenting with the hybrid nature of his practice, Vitshois is thus searching for a new nomadic identity.
