The Montresso* Art Foundation’s collection of contemporary art is the result of an unwavering commitment to artists over the past thirty years and is made up of a deliberately heterogeneous selection of works. From emblematic pieces to the most recent acquisitions, it covers the fields of painting, drawing, sculpture and photography. The richness of this collection retraces the highlights of the Montresso* adventure, reflecting the encounters and exchanges that have contributed to its history.

The MONTRESSO* COLLECTION, – Regard sur le portrait -, is the first in a series of thematic exhibitions that explore this permanent collection. Dedicated to the genre of the portrait, it presents the works of eight artists created during their residencies at Jardin Rouge.

Committed, often allegorical, sometimes psychological, the art of the portrait has long been the preferred tool of artists who witnessed their time. By drawing the contours of a contemporary mythology marked by territories in constant mutation, they set the codes of a new collective imagination.

Exhibition presented from 26 august to 12 october 2019 at Montresso* art space
