Born in 1999.
He lives and works in Kénitra (Morocco).

After a bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts, Anas Guermouj joined the Institute of Fine Arts of Tetouan to be graduated in 2021.

Anas Guermouj loves art in its primary definition. Art resonates for him as a message addressed and readable by all… for our sole pleasure. He also likes to take the opposite view of academicism by choosing his subjects from the popular Moroccan daily life. He naturally makes visible the aesthetic expressions that are omnipresent in our ordinary lives.

For his first residency at Jardin Rouge, the artist creates an iconography of the roads of the Kingdom of Morocco and its ” protagonists “. Luggage of folklore, trucks, taxis, tricycles… they all diffuse a multiplicity of signs and messages. Anas Guermouj re-appropriates them to share with us this popular madness. He explores the motifs and colours and renders them in sober and sublime drawings. He is also interested in the use of plastic tarpaulins which he transforms into the icone of the gentle poetry, the jousting of languages of these road workers.
