Born in 1986.
Lives and works in Badagry (Nigeria).

As a graduate from the DELSU in Abraka, Francis Agemo’s artistic reflexion is based on the duality between tradition and modernity, as he perceives it in the contemporary Nigerian society. His work is meant to be eminently political. In his drawings he elaborates portraits that commend the citizen as well as the everydayness of beings and matters.

From his home town to the buzzing of the cities, Francis Agemo’s work highlights a society where corruption and weariness jostle in a chaotic quest for wealth. From drawing to sculpture, he interrogates the ambiguities of a world where the relationship to money and the question of power create an unwavering gap between opulence and precarity.

His works are present at the Montresso Art Foundation in Marrakech.
